At Pichwai Tradition & Beyond (PTB), the Mughal Style of Painting is intricately woven into traditional Pichwai compositions, creating a unique fusion of artistic heritage. This creative innovation emerged when the curator explored the Chowbees Swaroop—24 boxed forms around classic Pichwais—and found them visually flat when isolated. To enhance their depth and elegance, decorative motifs from the Mughal Style of Painting were introduced into elements like clothing, borders, and backgrounds. These interventions brought vibrancy and harmony to the works while maintaining devotional integrity. PTB's artists have since expanded this approach across formats—on paper and cloth—magnifying delicate Mughal details into full-scale Pichwais, blending scale, tradition, and contemporary technique seamlessly.
