Monkeypox Virus Detected in Pakistan

Pakistani health experts have confirmed that the mpox virus case discovered there last week is not the same type that is prevalent in Africa. According to a health ministry statement from Pakistan, medical authorities define the incidence as Clade 2b. "Clade 1b is presently the leading cause of the continuing outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Notably, no Clade 1b cases have been documented in Pakistan to yet, according to the statement.
